Since 1996, the General Conference of the United Methodist Church made a commitment to focus on professional sexual ethics and to address the brokenness and pain related to sexual misconduct. The Missouri Annual Conference has experienced this type of abuse and Bishop Farr, along with the Cabinet and the Board of Ordained Ministry, remain committed to naming this pain and working to prevent it within our churches (See 2016 Book of Resolutions, #2046).
The phrase “boundaries” is an intentionally broad term. Participants will participate in several workshops over the course of two days covering a range of ideas including:
Additionally, Bishop Farr has called for an all-clergy gathering within this two-day period. The gathering will be an opportunity for worship, learning and fellowship.
The two-day event will be mandatory for all full-time appointed clergy and optional for part-time clergy and laity assigned. Those not able to attend the in-person training should be directed to complete the interim online boundaries training to meet their boundaries requirement.

- pastoral care
- self-care and best practices of ministry
