New Courses Available on Absorb
posted on November 13
We have new classes available! Absorb is our on-demand learning platform that offers online courses on your timeline, at a pace that works for you. The goal of this learning platform is to equip local church leaders on a variety of topics to support their work. Read more about the three newly released classes below.
In this course, you’ll explore the theology behind the ministry of care as well as the history of hospice. Revs. Tino Herrera and Karen Shearer will offer practical advice for offering care during difficult times, no matter the situation.
Faith Sharing is about knowing our personal faith story, knowing our call and living it out. We share our faith – both inside and outside the church walls - when we live into our call. In this course, you’ll hear from a variety of lay and clergy leaders, including our own Bishop Farr, on how your faith story can help you build bridges with others.
Coach Kay Kotan explores both church and leadership life cycles in the context of strategic ministry planning. She’ll share how to use this information for a strategic ministry planning retreat.
A Note About Lay Certification
These three classes are three of four courses within the Certified Lay Minister pathway for laity learning and discernment. The fourth course, United Methodist Polity, is only offered as a live, online class via Zoom. To learn more, visit www.moumethodist.org/laity.
